I recently went back to the place where I had worked before I had my second child as they were celebrating their second year of operating, and was absolutely astounded by the number of people who were asking when I would return to work. I have not even (seriously) thought about it. My husband thinks that I will look in the paper next year and just find something that will fit in perfectly with our children and our lifestyle, but I have decided to not think about it at all. Why is there such an expectation for women to go back to work to quickly? Do other mothers want to go back to work? Is it just me that doesn't? I find it so confusing, because on one hand, people are saying "No, it is better not to put kids into childcare... you shouldn't have kids just to put them into care", and then others say "Well, when
are you going back to work? She is five months old now!' I just tell my husband each week ''Hey babe, I saved us hundreds of dollars this week''. ''How?'' he asks. ''By not having to put our girls into childcare!''
I guess I am lucky that I don't have to go back to work for financial reasons, but the pressure is on! Anyway, my beautiful brown-eyed girl and my blue-eyed girl are sleeping, so it is the best time for me to do the dishes. Until next time...
