jolly jumping

My husbands parents bought my baby a jolly jumper for an early christmas present.
She loves it so much! She just sits in it and bounces around laughing! Take a look... Until next time...

baby's first rusk...

today, my baby had her first taste of 'real' food today. (if that is what you can call it)
She loved it... so much goo everywhere. I forgot how messy babies get with their food!

I wonder though, what is the real age that babies can start eating solids? Every label says from six months old. My favourite was on the rusk box, that says "All ages....... from 6 months''... ?????

Anyway, here she is - my second born babe covered in rusk. Until next time...

Oh, and what do YOU do?

I recently went back to the place where I had worked before I had my second child as they were celebrating their second year of operating, and was absolutely astounded by the number of people who were asking when I would return to work. I have not even (seriously) thought about it. My husband thinks that I will look in the paper next year and just find something that will fit in perfectly with our children and our lifestyle, but I have decided to not think about it at all. Why is there such an expectation for women to go back to work to quickly? Do other mothers want to go back to work? Is it just me that doesn't? I find it so confusing, because on one hand, people are saying "No, it is better not to put kids into childcare... you shouldn't have kids just to put them into care", and then others say "Well, when are you going back to work? She is five months old now!' I just tell my husband each week ''Hey babe, I saved us hundreds of dollars this week''. ''How?'' he asks. ''By not having to put our girls into childcare!''
I guess I am lucky that I don't have to go back to work for financial reasons, but the pressure is on! Anyway, my beautiful brown-eyed girl and my blue-eyed girl are sleeping, so it is the best time for me to do the dishes. Until next time...

again????

Well, this week I have felt a bit like a single mum again. That stupid flying game! I like the fact that you're here, but I talk to you and you don't even acknowledge me. GRRRRR... Anyway, the difference this time, is that I told you, and you said that we would catch a movie tomorrow night, so I guess that makes up for it! Anyway, I had better go - sleeping beauty is in my arms and it is starting to hurt! Until next time...

to blog or not to blog...

Well, I finally have the computer, but am still typing with one hand. As a mother, you get used to doing things one-handed, but it makes it so much easier when you have two! Things literally take half the time.
I am going to buy some exercise DVDs tomorrow.
My eldest daughter is causing me grief at the moment. I think it is still due to the birth of our second daughter. I guess we will figure it out in the end. It is just that bit harder when you feel like you are doing it on your own. Until next time...

little sad riding hood

Last term, my 5 year old daughter had her dress up day. She was little red riding hood. My daughter is so camera shy, that she cried during the parade because my sister-in-law would not put the videa camera away. And so, here is my little sad riding hood...
